YEREVAN (Armenpress)–More than 200 youth joined the ran’s of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation during a celebration Saturday at the Yerablour national cemetery–marking the seventh anniversary of the liberation of Shoushi.
The solemn ceremony took place at the foot of Sosse Mayrig’s tomb–dedicated last year during the 80th anniversary celebrations of the independent republic of Armenia.
"The victory in Shoushi proves that we will greet the 21st century victoriously," commented ARF Executive Council of Armenia member Artashes Shahbazian.
"By considering this a day of commemoration–the newly indoctrinate members of the ARF must comprehend–that at a time of need–they must volunteer to fight for the defense of the homeland–regardless of their gender–profession or age," added Shahbazian.
ARF Bureau chairman Peno Tontian said that Sosse Mayrig epitomized the female fedayee–thus defining the image of a female ARF member. She introduced to the ARF ran’s the commandmen’s which each ARF member must embody.
