
VAN NUYS–The 32nd annual Navasartian Games will kick off Tuesday at Birmingham High School with thousands of Homenetmen members and supporters expected to gather for the kick off of the culmination of yet another successful round of competition, which kicked off in May. The celebration will continue on 4th of July.
On Thursday, the basketball semi-final games will be held at Birmingham High School, the Homenetmen Ararat chapter center, Alex Pilibos School and Pasadena City College. The Navasartian Festival, which has become a Los Angeles community staple, will follow and feature a concert-style entertainment program.
The Navasartian Victory ball will take place Friday at the Universal Sheraton, where Navasartian Honorary Chairman Varouj Bedikian will assume his duties. Homenetmen’s “2007 Exemplary Member” award will be presented to Nigol Arzoumanian at the same event.
The 5-day festivities will culminate with the tradition closing ceremony featuring the march of athletes and scouts, distribution of medals and awards and a special performance by Karnig Sarkissian.
