Armenian-American author George Kirazian’s mystery novel, “The Tamerlane Game,” has been released by Laurel Publications and is available on Amazon.
Set against a backdrop of love, intrigue, music and the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe, the book spans the globe from California to the South Pacific across several post-war decades.
“Years later, Gordian often recalled the case: a grisly tale of music, beauty, heartbreak and murder. The kind of thing that should be forgotten, but remains in the mind, year after year. Even more often, he recalled the lines from Poe that were at the heart of it all. ‘O! craving heart, for the lost flowers and sunshine of my summer hours!’ Those lines, he knew, would remain with him forever,“ reads an excerpt from the mystery novel.
Author, teacher, and composer, Kirazian completed undergraduate and graduate studies at New York University, and for more than 30 years taught writing, literature, and music appreciation courses at Grossmont College and San Diego State University.
In addition to his mystery novel, “The Tamerlane Game,” Kirazian has written and published extensively in poetry and fiction, including the novella, “A Time for Fathers,” and the youth fantasy novel, “The Princess of December.” He also wrote the children’s books, “The Sleeping Violet,” “Perry the Peacock,” “Beyond the Koala Kingdom,” and “Leo and the Mulberry Flute.” He published “Easy Writing,” a book on writing improvement for adults. He has also written scripts and instructional videos, including the popular “Let’s Play the Piano and All Those Keyboards” (Kultur Video).
Kirazian’s work as a composer includes various art songs, hymns, a new version of the Armenian Apostolic Church Divine Liturgy and The Book of Ruth: A Ballet. Several of his works have been performed by various choral, music and dance groups in the San Diego area and beyond.
