YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Before wrapping up a visit to Armenia, Poland’s foreign minister Ann Fotyga met with President Robert Kocharian Tuesday, who told the minister Armenia was interested in expanding its relations with Poland, the largest economy of Eastern Europe. Kocharian was quoted by his press office as saying that to attain this objective the sides had to take a set of institutionalized steps, particularly, to accomplish formation of a joint inter-governmental commission. Kocharian also emphasized Armenian-Polish cooperation from the perspective of Armenia’s involvement in the European Neighborhood Program. "We try to completely and efficiently use the opportunities given by the EU New Neighborhood policy and in this context we consider Poland as one of our main partners," said Kocharian Fotyga said she hoped that her visit would provide new impetus to furthering of bilateral relationships. They also spoke about an array of other issues, Kocharian’s press office said. Later that day, Fotyga laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide memorial monument. She also visited the adjacent Genocide museum, where she wrote in the memory book: "It is impossible to forget barbarisms of past."
