YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian President Robert Kocharian met Wednesday with a delegation led by Advisor to US Secretary of State US Assistance to CIS Countries Bill Taylor.
The sides discussed a memorandum on the establishment of a joint Armenian-US working group scheduled to be signed on Thursday–January 27 by Taylor and finance minister Levon Barkhoudarian. According to the US representative–the memorandum encourages social and economic reforms and solidifies high standard Armenia-US economic ties.
The Presidential press service announced that during the meeting Taylor and Kocharian discussed the Karabakh peace process–US assistance–and regional security.
The sides also shared their thoughts on regional cooperation. Noting that such cooperation must be beneficial to all states in the region–Kocharian underlined Armenia’s readiness to cooperate and participate in fulfilling mutual goals.
