LA CRESCENTA—The Armenian National Committee of America -Greater Crescenta Valley Chapter on Friday announced its endorsement of four candidates for the Crescenta Valley Town Council, which represents the unincorporated area of La Crescenta-Montrose. The election will take place on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 2563 Foothill Blvd, La Crescenta, CA 91214. The endorsed candidates are: MARIAM BARNES, SARAH TODD, DANIEL KIM, AND CHRIST KIRIKIAN.
“We, at the Crescenta Valley ANCA, are delighted to endorse these four candidates after having had in-depth and thoughtful conversations with each of them. We believe each of them has great promise for the future and a strong sense of service for our community,” stated Chair Dr. Alice Chalian Manoukian.
Mariam Barnes has served on the Crescenta Valley Town Council as Treasurer for three years, and is running for re-election to a second term in office. She has also served on the Council’s Scholarship, Prayer Breakfast, and Youth Council Committees, and has co-founded The Village, a drug prevention program. Barnes is involved in organizations such as Prom Plus and Fire House.
Sarah Todd serves as the second Vice President of Lincoln Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Besides her community involvement, she is an accountant at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
Daniel Kim is a general contractor and lifelong resident of La Crescenta. As an active member of the community, he is involved in Cub Scouts, sports teams, and the school PTA.
Christ Kirikian has extensive experience with municipal and county planning agencies. He previously worked on the Environmental Report for LAX, which further enhanced the Los Angeles bid for the 2028 Olympics. Kirikian is currently working on environmental documents for the Armenian American Museum in Glendale.
