MONTEBELLO—The Armenian National Committee of America-San Gabriel Valley will host the annual Armenian Genocide Rally and Vigil on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument in Bicknell Park, 901 Via San Clemente, Montebello, CA 90640.
The speakers for the event will be Father Vazken Movsesian and Dr. Levon Marashlian. The event will also feature musical performances by Orange County band, green KARD. Student groups from the Mesrobian Armenian School and the AYF Vahan Cardashian chapter will also be participating in the program.
The ANCA-SGV would like to invite all community members to join in commemorating the Armenian Genocide and paying respect to the victims who lost their lives in the atrocities. “It is imperative that we come together every year to remember and reflect, but to also agree to take collective action in ensuring that the rights of Armenians are recognized” stated ANCA-SGV Chairman, Viken Pakradouni.
The Armenian National Committee of America of San Gabriel Valley is the local chapter of the largest and most influential ArmenianAmerican grassroots advocacy organization in the United States. The ANCA-SGV advances the concerns of the region’s Armenian-American community on the local, state, and federal level.
Please no Syrian flags at the rally. We do not want to be involved or associated with the conflicts of others.
…because Armenians only condemn massacres when it is politically expedient for them, right? And you have been at the forefront of involving and associating Armenians with the conflicts of others, except your support has been for the NATO-Turkey-Terrorists who committed the massacres of Kessab and various other attacks throughout Syria.
Because it’s counterproductive to be associated with a known criminal regime. Perhaps you should also condemn the countless massacres perpetrated on the Lebanese, or is that not politically expedient for you.
Your “criminal regime” rhetoric puts you on the same level as the LTP and Raffi protestors in Yerevan. Syria gave the Genocide survivors a place of refuge, don’t turn around and “thank them” by jumping on the western hatred-bandwagon calling for the death of Syria.
I’d bring Russian flags!
