YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A protocol on the results of the visit of Chief of Staff of the Russian Army Anatoly Kvashnin to Armenia was signed in Yerevan on Wednesday.
During the visit of Anatoly Kvashnin to Armenia–the anti-aircraft-and-missile regiment of the 102nd Russian base was assigned joint combat duty with the anti-aircraft defense forces and aviation of Armenia within the framework of the united anti-aircraft defense system.
"Armenia–Russia’s partner in the Caucasus–has always been a dependable ally," said Lieutenant-General Mikael Haroutiunian–Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army General Staff. He said that the creation of a joint alliance to enhance the fighting capacity of the CIS in the south is a top priority on the agenda.
Haroutiunian said that a wide range of issues related to bilateral military cooperation were discussed during this visit. (This visit is a continuation of the Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov visit to Armenia.)
According to Anatoly Kvashnin–all current issues were considered and prospects of further cooperation were discussed.
