INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–His Holiness Aram I Catholicos of the Great See of Cilicia Sunday delivered the keynote address at an international conference organized jointly by the Notre Dame and Indiana State universities. The conference entitled "Faith and Health," brought together renowned medical doctors, academics, psychologists and sociologists. The president of the university commended the Armenian Pontiff by highlighting his role in the Christian church and particularly his outstanding contribution to the ecumenical movement. He presented the Catholicos as an international figure with an important place in academic circles through his several theological publications on theological issues. During his speech "An Ecclesiological and Missiological Approach to Healing," the Catholicos approached the theme of the conference from a theological perspective, analyzing many important and contemporary questions in the field. The lecture was followed by a question and answer period. The participants expressed great satisfaction at the spiritual leader’s argumen’s and explanations. The Eastern and Western prelates, Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan and Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian also attended the conference in addition to the chairman of the Executive Council of the Eastern Prelacy and faithful Armenia’s from nearby cities. The president of Notre Dame University had visited Aram I for a private meeting before the conference. Notre Dame is one of the most important universities in the United States with 20,000 students. The administration of Indiana State University also had a meeting with the Catholicos.
