LA CRESCENTA—Archpriest Khoren Habeshian has been appointed to serve as pastor at the St. Gregory Church of San Francisco, succeeding previous pastor Very Rev. Vaghinag Meloian, the Western Prelacy reported.
The decision was announced Friday following an ordinance by Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian and the joint decision of the Religious and Executive Councils. Father Habeshian’s appointment was also approved by the Board of Trustees of St. Gregory Church.
Father Habeshian has served for decades as a pastor within the Eastern Prelacy, specifically at Holy Cross Church in Washington D.C., and in recent years relocated to the West Coast where he has served within the Western Prelacy. For the past few months, Father Habeshian had been frequently serving the St. Gregory parish community.
The Prelacy wished Father Habeshian and the Board of Trustees success in their service to St. Gregory Church.
