YEREVAN–Separate delegations of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau met Thursday with Russian and Iranian ambassadors to Armenia.
The ARF delegation comprised of ARF Bureau chairman Hrant Markarian–along with Bureau members Vahan Hovanessian and Mario Nalbandian–met with Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia–Anatoly Dryukov at the Russian embassy in Armenia. Also present at the meeting was Boris Nikolaiev–the Embassy’s Counsel.
At the meeting several issues pertinent to Armenian-Russian relations in the fields of socio-political and economic spheres were discussed. The status of the Armenian community in Russia was also evaluated.
Another delegation of ARF Bureau members comprised of Albert Adjemian–Vicken S. Hovsepian and Yervant Pambookian–met with the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia–Farhad Koleini at the Iranian Embassy.
Among the issues discussed between the two sides were the present state of political–social and cultural relations between the two sides–and methods of improving relations in those areas. Also discussed was the present situation in the region along with steps taken by the Armenian community in the region to ensure official recognition of the Armenian Genocide worldwide.
