PARIS (Noyan Tapan)– In its final session of the 21st Congress–the Socialist International– held in Paris France gave the Armenian Revolutionary Federation advisory status. It is important to state that from all the Caucus nations–the ARF is the sole political party to be awarded this status. The next step would be for the ARF to receive "full-member" status–a position held by top socialist and social-democratic political parties.
During the meetings which lasted for three days–the ARF delegates had key meetings discussing protocol and strategy with political leaders and representatives who share similar political views. Among the key officials the ARF delegates met with are newly elected Socailist International chairman–Antonio Guiterrez–and Portugal’s Prime Minister–Germany’s foreign vice-minister Kristof Zoplei–and Italian foreign vice-minister–Umberto Ranier. The heads of state were listened attentively regarding the events which took place in Armenia’s Parliament in last couple of weeks. They strressed the fact that such problems with Armenia’s government could be very detrimental for Armenia’s future in the European political scene.
