YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council representative Armen Rustamian and member Eduard Ghazarian met with Greek Ambassador to Armenia Anadios Zokrafos at the Greek embassy Wednesday.
During the meeting the two sides discussed relations between Armenia and Greece and various issues of mutual interest–specifically noting that Armenia and Greece have been allies for centuries.
The two sides stressed the importance improving Armenia-Greece relations–solutions to the Karabakh conflict–Turkey’s politics–and the importance of Armenia-Iran-Greece trilateral cooperation. The Greek Ambassador noted the significance of Armenia’s initiatives toward the resolution of the Karabakh conflict–and stressed that Greece would support Armenia’s membership to the European Council.
According the Zokrafos–Turkey’s admission into the European Council depends on the resolution of various issues–including improvement of human rights and resolution of the Kurdish problem.
Unlike Turkey–Cyprus is fully qualified to join the European Council–said Zokrafos.
