MOSCOW (Yerkir)–ARF Bureau member and chairman of the NA Defense National Security and Internal Affairs Committee Vahan Hovhannisian–and ARF Bureau Moscow office representative Seyran Baghdasarian–met on Friday with Russia’s First Deputy Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov. The meeting took place at the Russian Foreign Ministry building in Moscow. The ARF members introduced their views and positions on Armenia’s domestic and foreign policy as well as Armenian-Turkish relations–the Mountainous Karabagh Republic conflict regulation process–and geopolitical developmen’s in the South Caucasus.
The sides also discussed Armenian-Russian relations underscoring the importance of further developing political–economic and military ties.
Trubnikov praised the current level of Armenian-Russian relations and spoke of future expansion of relations. He briefed the ARF on recent political developmen’s in the South Caucasus–and as the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk group–presented an overview of the OCSE Minsk group’s current activities.
With hopes that the ARF will continue to play a positive role in developing Armenian-Russian relations–Trubnikov expressed his readiness to continue such useful meetings with the ARF.
