STEPANAKERT (Karabakh-Open)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Movement 88 faction in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Parliament proposed that the Karabakh conflict be discussed in hearings and an assessment of the conflict be made by the country’s legislature.
In proposing the hearings, the ARF-Movement 88 cited the new developmen’s around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the need for new approaches to relations between Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The proposal also took into consideration the imperative of enlarging the scope and circles in which the Karabakh conflict is discussed and informing the public about the conflict resolution process.
The proposal urges that the parliamentary hearings begin in a month and at the conclusion of the hearing, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic parliament adopt a decision on the conflict resolution process. The proposal also calls for a separate bill appealing the Armenian parliament to clarify the future relations between Armenia and the Nagonro-Karabakh Republic.
The other two factions of the Karabakh parliament–Democracy and Homeland–have yet to discuss this proposal.
