STUDIO CITY—The Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Papken Seuni” Gomideh and the ANCA San Fernando Valley East Chapter hosted a free lecture presentation titled “Roadmap to College,” on Sunday March 31 at the Armenian Center of the Eastern San Fernando Valley. The presenter was Daniel Mehrabian, who holds a Masters in Education degree from UCLA, is the founder of EduProsUSA and is a college counselor at AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian High School.
Mehrabian spoke about a variety of topics that affect the university admissions process along with strategies and tactics both students and parents can adopt to increase the likelihood of acceptance into competitive colleges and universities.
Attendees included parents and students from local public and private schools, along with educators and administrators from local educational institutions. After his presentation, Mehrabian answered the attendees’ questions, which varied from the role athletics play in university admissions to how one’s field of study can affect their chances of admission into the university of their choice.
Mehrabian thanked the ARF Papken Seuni Gomideh for inviting him to speak at the Armenian Center of the Eastern San Fernando Valley and expressed his willingness to present at this and other Armenian centers again in the near future. Levon Baronian, Chairman of the ARF Papken Seuni Gomideh thanked Mehrabian for his efforts and willingness to provide such a valuable service to the community.
The Armenian Center of the Eastern San Fernando Valley is operated by the Armenian Cultural Foundation and is home to several non-profit Armenian-American organizations in the greater North Hollywood area. In recent years, the Armenian Center of the Eastern San Fernando Valley has become a vibrant hub of the community where organizations such as the All-Armenian Students Association, Armenian Relief Society Meghy chapter, and ANCA San Fernando Valley East chapter hold regular meetings and events and offer services that benefit the local community. The Armenian Cultural Foundation and ARF Papken Seuni Gomideh are actively working to establish a larger and more permanent center to cater to the needs of the growing Armenian-American community of the eastern San Fernando Valley, which is estimated to number around 100,000 people.
