SOFIA, Bulgaria (ARF Press Office)–A delegation representing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation attended the Party of European Socialists (PES) congress, which convened from November 22 to 23.
The ARF was represented by Bureau member and ARF representative to Socialist International Mario Nalbandian and the representative of the ARF in Bulgaria Sahag Tchalekian.
The primary objective of the congress was to develop PES’s manifesto for the upcoming Europarliment elections in 2009.
During the congress, the ARF delegation met with several representatives, the most notable of which was a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanshev.
The prime minister briefed the ARF delegation about his recent visit to Armenia and the region. The two sides also discussed the strengthening of ties between the prime minister’s party and the ARF and certain principles were addressed to achieve that cooperation.
