YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau and Executive Council of Armenia–Vahan Hovanessian and Armen Rustamian visited Moscow from Monday and held meetings with high-level Russian officials. They returned to Yerevan Wednesday.
During the visit–the ARF leader held meetings with Chairman of the Standing Committee for CIS Affair Boris Pastukhov–Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Relations Dmitri Rogozin–Chairman of the Committee for Defense General Nikolayev–Chairman of the Committee for Security Alexander Gurov and Chairman of the Budgetary Committee Alexander Zhukov. During the meetings the sides discussed the Armenian-Russian relations and regional processes. The ARF representatives presented the ARF’s view on the Karabakh settlement.
The ARF representatives had talks with Chairman of the Security Committee of the Russian State Duma–a leader of the "Unity" party–General Alexander Gurov who is known for struggling against corruption. An agreement was reached on maintaining contacts.
Meetings were also held with leader of the "Fatherland" faction Yevgeny Primakov–member of the Political Council of the "Fatherland" party Andrey Isayev–representative of the CPRF faction–Valentin Kuptsov and Vice-Speaker of the Russian Duma Artur Chilingarov.
The visit was organized by the ARF Moscow office–whose executive director Seyran Baghdasarian also attended the meetings.
