ARMENIAN REVOLUTIONARY FEDERATION WIDENS ITS TIES WITH POLITICAL PARTIES OF WORLD
YEREVAN (ARF Press Office)–Chairman of the Supreme Body of ARF Armenia–Armen Rustamian–body member–Edward Kazarian and head of the ARF Moscow office–Seyran Baghdasarian arrived in Kiev on Wednesday to meet with the leadership of the Ukrainian United Socialist Party.
ARF representatives will hold meetings with the chairman of the Ukrainian United Socialist Party–Victor Medvedchuk–and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma’s chief of staff to finalize a joint program agreement–due to be signed in Yerevan soon. The ARF representatives will also meet with top government and political officials from the Ukraine–and with the representatives of the Armenian community.
Similar agreemen’s have been signed with the Congress of Russian Communities–headed by Dimitry Rogozin who is also the Russian State Duma Foreign Relations Committee chairman–and with the Socialist Party of Georgia–headed by Vakhtang Rcheushvili–who is the Vice-speaker of the Georgian Parliament. "Such agreemen’s allow us to actively cooperate with these parties; we hope to establish similar relations with our Ukrainian colleagues–enabling us to widen the basis of our activities in Socialist International and other organizations," said Rustamian. ARF Bureau Chairman Hrant Markarian congratulated Germany’s social-democratic party leaders for their victory in parliamentary elections–expressing the ARF’s desire to form a strong relationship with Germany’s social democratic party.
In response–Germany’s re-elected Prime Minister Gerard Schroder answered Markarian–affirming his party’s willingness to work with the ARF
