YEREVAN (ARF Press)–ARF Bureau member–the chairman of the Defense–National Security and Internal Affairs’ Committee of Armenian Parliament Vahan Hovhanissian and the ARF Moscow Bureau office director Seyran Baghdasarian had several meetings with Russian Foreign Ministry officials and the Russian co-chairman of OSCE Minsk Group–from October 11 to 13. They were also invited to the Otechestvo’s Assembly (Motherland)–an influential Russian political organizations.
During the meeting with the Russian OSCE co-chairman and special Ambassador Nikolay Gribkov issues dealing with the current negotiation for a peaceful regulation of the Karabakh conflict as well as general regional issues were discussed.
During the meeting with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov and other Foreign Ministry officials–ARF presented its positions and standpoints regarding the Armenian-Russian relations–Armenian -Turkish relations–a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict–and the geo-political developmen’s of the Southern Caucuses.
The ARF delegates also participated in the Otechestvo Assembly–headed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Lujkov.
Several socialist and social-democratic parties of France–Germany–Sweden–Ukraine–Bulgaria and other countries also participated in the assembly.
The ARF delegates met with many influential politicians from Russia and many other countries.
On the second day of the assembly Vahan Hovhanissian participated in the Committee–which was analyzing and developing perspectives to understand the experiences of the Russian Diaspora.
