YEREVAN (Yerkir)–The 29th World Congress of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF)–which is held once every four years–will convene in Yerevan on February 6.
The Congress will discuss the executive body’s–ARF Bureau’s–four-year activity report–as well as world and regional developmen’s–and issues relating to Armenia and Armenia’s. The Congress will also outline ARF strategy in the coming four years.
Representatives of ARF chapters from 30 countries will attend the convention–reported ARF Bureau’s Yerevan office.
Representatives from Armenian political organizations–Non Governmental Organizations–government officials–foreign diplomats–and guests from around the world have been invited to attend the opening ceremony.
ARF Bureau representative Hrant Margarian will summarize the party’s accomplishmen’s in the past four years.
This is only the second time the ARF World Congress is being held in the second independent Armenian Republic.
Authorities in Armenia prevented the party from gathering in the country for the Congress in 1992. It was only in 2000 that the party was again able to gather in the homeland–after its ninth Congress held in Yerevan in 1919.
