YEREVAN (ARF Youth Office)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau Youth Office from December 6 to 8, hosted the Youth Organization of Norway’s Labor Party delegation, which was comprised of its Secretary General, international secretary and a member.
The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the Norwegian delegation with the ARF Bureau Youth Office for future partnership and cooperative activities.
The ARF Youth Office organized a meeting on Dec. 6 at the ARF Bureau headquarters, where 20 representatives of the ARF Youth Organization of Armenia met with the Norwegian delegation.
During the meeting, the Norwegian delegation was briefed about the current political situation in Armenia and the role the ARF Youth Organization plays in that realm and other challenges facing the youth in Armenia. The Norwegian delegation expressed interests in the youth’s participation in the Armenian political process, especially the number of youth represented in the National Assembly, regional and local governmen’s.
The ARF Youth Office and the Norwegian delegation agreed that one ARF Youth representative will attend an upcoming youth jamboree in Norway. Also, with the assistance of the Norwegian delegation, seminars and conferences would be organized with the participation of youth from the region, including Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Norwegian delegation Friday visited the Dzidzernagapert Armenian Memorial Monument, where they laid a wreath in memory of the Genocide victims. The delegation also visited the Genocide museum and institute. The delegation expressed dismay about the fact that Norway has not yet officially recognized the Genocide and pledged action to that end.
