YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armauto public corporation has set up the production of stamped steel balls and is able to satisfy the demand of the Zangezur copper-molybdenum plant–Technical Director of Armauto Souren Hakobian said. By the end of the year the enterprise will supply 5,000 tons of steel balls to the plant operating at full capacity this year–he added.
According to Hakobian–the enterprise fully satisfies the demand of the railroad station and subway for wheelsets and sets of rails and concrete sleepers. The enterprise also produces small-capacity and small-sized auto and electric loaders and prime movers. Armauto corporation recently produced a wheeled ladder for the Yerevan Zvartnots airport. The ladder is unique in the CIS countries. In the near future the enterprise is planning to modernize all the ladders in the Zvartnots airport by putting them on autowheels.
Hakobian reported that negotiations are currently being conducted with an Iranian company on setting up joint production of electric loaders. Joint production of large-capacity auto and electric loaders is also planned.
The enterprise currently employs 250 persons–and by the end of the year an additional 200 jobs will be created.
