YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Early this month the Armenian and Karabakh Ministries of Culture–Youth Affairs and Sports concluded a cooperation agreement.
Karabakh Minister of Culture–Youth Affairs and Sports Armen Sargssian said that the signing of the document will lay the basis for the two ministries’ joint activities.
The agreement stipulates the devising of special programs to develop cultural facilities. Particular attention will be paid to the training of personnel. Under state order–Armenia will assign five seats at the Theatrical Institute and the Institute of Physical Culture for students from Karabakh.
Festivals of Karabakh culture in Armenia and festivals of Armenian culture in Karabakh will regularly be held. An exhibition of works of Karabakh artists and craftsmen is expected to open in Yerevan. A similar exhibition will be arranged by Armenia in Shushi.
Two plays will be staged at the Stepanakert State Drama with the assistance of the Armenian Ministry of Culture–Youth Affairs and Sports. One of the plays will be dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity in Armenia.
The two country’s organizations are planning to establish permanent ties in the sphere of youth policy and holding different kinds of arrangemen’s for young people.
The Armenian Ministry will sponsor the Karabakh sports school of olympic trainees. A number of competitions will be held in Karabakh.
"Culture is an important factor of forming statehood. The document has made more realizable the ‘One nation–one culture’ slogan," Armen Sargssian said.
