Armenia Fund has donated new laptop computers to nearly two dozen underfunded educational and cultural museums and institutions throughout Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, helping many of them modernize operations and boost productivity.
The donation was made following Armenia Fund’s annual Thanksgiving Day telethon, during which the pan-national organization raised $20.8 million dollars to fund water projects in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, as well as other development and charity initiatives throughout Armenia’s provinces.
The project was implemented with the support of the United Armenian Fund–a coalition composed of the Armenian Catholic Eparchy, the Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian Missionary Association of America, the Armenian Relief Society, the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, The Lincy Foundation and Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America.
“As always, Armenia Fund is grateful for the continuous and generous support of United Armenian Fund, an indispensable player in bringing valuable specialty equipment and technology directly to the designated recipients,” the organization said in a press release published last week on the website of its Eastern USA offices. “With these donations, Armenia Fund continues its ongoing support of cultural and educational programs and the vital role that technology plays in advancing the research and preservation undertaken at these institutions.”
The laptops are equipped with 5.1 digital media, high definition displays and come preloaded with Windows 7 operating systems. They will be used to streamline day-to-day operations and support ongoing research and multimedia enriched presentations and projects.
Below is a complete list of museums and institutions that received the new laptops. In addition to the 19 museums and art centers that received laptops were the Kanaker-Zeytoun hospital in Yerevan and the newly opened St. Gregory of Narek Youth Center.
