Armenia acquired Chinese AR1A rockets in 2013

YEREVAN—Armenia’s armed forces will soon purchase new long-range weapons, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian said Friday during a meeting with professors and students at the Yerevan State University of Economics.

However, speaking to reporters, Ohanian declined to specify what weapons will be bought, citing it as “a military secret.”

“Day by day we are enhancing defense and technical cooperation, in particular with our strategic partners, namely Russia, and are updating our weapons,” he said.

Asked about the sale of Russian arms to Azerbaijan, the minister said that everything regarding development of defense capabilities of the neighboring state is always the focus of the Armenian side.

“We have expressed our point of view and our concerns in all platforms,” he emphasized.

This is the way to keep the enemy in check. All they understand is the language of brute force.

About time. What about shoulder fired, laser guided, antitank weapons? We cap pack ten of those on a horse or mule, that costs $ 500 USD and take out ten multi million dollar enemy tanks. Low teck can sometime win over high teck.

Iskandars I would imagine. Now Azeries with their brothers in Nato Turkey can go spend another 10 billion to catch up. Works fine for us and Russia. Let Azeries pay top dollar and we will get the best weapons for almost free.

The long-range weapons in question will most probably be free thanks to Mother Russia.
