KIEV (XINHUA)–The Armenian and Ukrainian governmen’s signed a series of agreemen’s Wednesday to strengthen economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.
The two nations signed agreemen’s on the establishment of an anti-double taxation law–tax legislation which would tax imported and exported goods and labor–and a treaty on border issues and cooperative agreemen’s on science and technology and international transportation.
Levon Ter-Petrosyan headed an Armenian government delegation on a two-day visit to Ukraine where he held a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart–Leonid Kuchma.
It was said that Ter-Petrosyan’s visit to Ukraine was organized to help strengthen bilateral economic and political cooperation and develop transport potentials and expand bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
According to statistics–trade between Ukraine and Armenia totaled $29 million in 1996 and reached $4 million in the first five months of this year.
