KIEV (Reuter)–Ukraine dropped two precious World Cup points when they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Armenia in their European group nine qualifier on Wednesday.
Artur Petrosyan earned the Armenia’s their fifth draw in six games by firing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovsky from the edge of the penalty box in the 75th minute.
His goal canceled out Ukrainian forward Andriy Shevchenko’s sixth-minute strike after a cross form the left wing.
