YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"A drastic break-up of all socio-economic policy in Armenia is needed," said Sergey Badalian–leader of the Armenian communists–Thursday during rallies in Yerevan–Giumri and Vanadzor. The communists’ goals are to strengthen the state’s role in the economy–centralize and nationalize a certain part of the economy–stop all privatization–implement deep constitutional reforms–limit presidential powers and extend the powers of the government and parliament. "Our rally is an act of solidarity with Russia. We are not with Yeltsin’s Russia–but with the working people of Russia," Badalian said. Russia and Belarus will be signing agreemen’s on April 2 strengthening their alliance. In Badalian’s opinion–Armenia’should join that alliance immediately.
