YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A delegation headed by Armenia’s Prime Minister Andranik Margarian will leave for Stockholm–Sweden on Sunday to attend the Fourth International Forum on the prevention of Genocide titled the "Stockholm International Forum: Preventing Genocide; Threats and Responsibilities," to take place January 25-30.
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Ruben Shugarian–Armenian Ambassador to Sweden Vladimir Karmirshalian–and other officials are part of the delegation.
Representatives of 58 countries–mostly heads of state and high-level officials–will participate. The king of Sweden–UN Secretary General Kofi Annan–and senior European Union officials will be at the opening ceremony.
On the sidelines of the conference–Margarian will hold meetings with Swedish Prime Minister Goran Person–Swedish foreign minister Laila Freivalds–and various members of the Armenian community.
The first Stockholm conference on Genocide was held in 2000–where a declaration on teaching and investigating the Holocaust was adopted.
