WASHINGTON (Armenpress)–A business forum on investment opportunities and the business climate in Armenia was held at the Armenian Embassy in Washington–DC on March 6. The event was organized by the Diplomatic Forum–a Washington–DC-based NGO–and hosted by the Embassy.
The forum drew participants from many DC-based businesses in energy–hi-tech–infrastructure development industries–law firms–as well as congressional staff members–and was moderated by Diplomatic Forum Chairman Timothy B. Mills.
Armenian Ambassador to the US Dr. Arman Kirakossian introduced the keynote speaker at the event–Armenian President’s Principal Economic Adviser Vahram Nercissiantz. The main topics of Nercissiantz’s presentation were the Armenian Government’s reforms program–the reform objectives and their successes in the past decade since the independence–as well as main trends in the political and economic development of Armenia.
He also described the business environment in Armenia–and the government’s efforts to further improve it and make it more attractive for the foreign and domestic investors. He also described business and investment opportunities in Armenia’s energy–mining–hi-tech–tourism–construction–and agribusiness industries.
