TBILISI (Combined Sources)–Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Monday with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze in Tbilisi for talks focused on bilateral relations and the conditions of Georgia’s large Armenian minority in Javakhk, an Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
Speaking to reporters in a joint press conference with Vashadze, Nalbandian said there are no issues between two “friendly” neighboring states which cannot be resolved.
Nalbandian made his remarks after meeting with his Georgian counterpart. Nalbandian said the two discussed the current level of economic, cultural, and educational relations between the two countries. He added that the two also focused on the European Union’s Eastern Partnership Program, to which they both are members. Vashadze, for his part, praised relations between the two countries and stressed that the issues discussed during their meeting should be addressed “quickly.”
The two diplomats also discussed a number of concerns raised by the Armenian Community of Georgia, with Vashadze presenting Nalbandian with government-level projects ostensibly aimed at solving social, economic and political problems in Javakhk. The Georgian Foreign Minister pointed, in particular, to job creation projects in the region connected to construction and infrastructure repair and development.
The breakaway Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia were also on the agenda of the talks. “I fully informed my colleague about the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and the relations between Georgia and Russia,” the Georgian Minister said. The two republics, broke free from Georgian rule in the early 90s. They were the center of renewed conflict in the Summer of 2008 when Georgia fought a war with Russia in an attempt to reclaim the territories.
According to Nalbandian, the two also spoke about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Turkish-Armenian relations. “Armenia welcomes all efforts, including the efforts by Georgia, to mediate and stabilize relations between Armenia and Turkey,” Nalbandian said.
During his visit, the Armenian Foreign Minister also met Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and members of the Armenian community in Georgia.

I’m tired of this ongoing stupidity. Every country treats Armenia and Armenians like waste… Every country tries to assimilate Armenians and they try their best to keep Armenians out of Armenia… This seems a WORLD PLAN TO GET RID OF THE ARMENIANS FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL.
