YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Organization issues regarding a business forum of manufacturers of Armenia and Lebanon scheduled to be held in September were discussed during the meeting of Armenia’s Minister of Economy and Finance Edward Sandoyan and representatives of the Association of Manufacturers of Lebanon–Treasurer Nazaret Saponjanian–Secretary General Gazi Yeghian and others.
The event will coincide with the official visit of a governmental delegation of Armenia to Lebanon. Large-scale events to familiarize the delegation with the economy of Lebanon are scheduled.
The Lebanese businessmen’signed an agreement on mutual cooperation with their Armenian colleagues regarding Prime Minister Armen Darbinian visit.
The guests expressed willingness to make investmen’s in various spheres of Armenia’s economy and effectively develop further cooperation.
The businessmen from the two countries will hold detailed discussion of possible trends of cooperation and will submit them for their governmen’s’ consideration this week.
The chairman of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Aram Vardanian said that a saturated schedule had been drawn up for the Lebanese partners which will allow them to visit various regions and enterprises of the republic. According to Vardanian–trade and economic relations between the two countries need to be raised to a higher level that would correspond to the existing political relations.
The two country’s businessmen are convinced that the agreement settles economic relations as much as possible.
The Armenian delegation at the upcoming Lebanese forum will be sponsored by the Armenian Development Agency.
The UMBA conferred the title of honorary members of UMBA on Gazi Yeghian and Nazaret Saponjian.
