YEREVAN (PanArmenian)–Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Tuesday for talks on bilateral economic issues during a three-day working visit to Lebanon.
Abrahamyan attached importance to the development of economic ties between Armenia and Lebanon and suggested the two countries conduct an Armenian-Lebanese business forum in September when Hariri is due to visit Yerevan.
The two also spoke about Armenia’s rapprochement with Turkey, with Hariri praising Yerevan for taking the initiative to ensure regional security and stability.
After the meeting, Abrahamyan laid a wreath at the tomb of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. He then visited the town of Balabek and had a short meeting with town’s mayor.
In the evening, Abrahamyan’s delegation visited the Armenian village of Anjar. The Speaker laid a wreath at the Musa Dagh heroes memorial then met with representatives of the community.
