YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–National Assembly Chairman Karen Demirchian met with World Bank Regional Director Judy O’Connor Tuesday. It is reported that the sides agreed on broader cooperation between the Armenian legislature and the World Bank.
Judy O’Connor said the World Bank has certain programs that will aid the economy of Armenia–yet in order for that to occur the parliament and the World Bank have to work together. O’Connor hoped that the proposals she presented on behalf of the World Bank will be supported by the National Assembly and the Government. O’Connor also spoke specific programs that the World Bank is developing to aid and further develop the private sector of the economy.
