YEREVAN (Itar-Tass)–A parliamentary delegation from Armenia left for Moscow Tuesday on an official visit at the invitation of the leadership of the Russian Federation Council.
The delegation is led by speaker of the National Assembly Babken Ararktsian and includes representatives from different parties and factions of the Armenian parliament.
In addition to talks with chairman of the Federation Council Yegor Stroyev and Duma speaker Gennady Seleznyov–the itinerary of the visit includes talks with Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov and Secretary of the Russian Security Council Ivan Rybkin.
The Armenian delegation will meet Russian Patriarch Alexy II. For his part–the speaker of the Armenian parliament is expected to address lawmakers of the Russian Federation Council.
The parliamen’s of the two countries actively cooperate at bilateral–regional and international levels and–above all–in the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly–OSCE Parliamentary Assemblies and the organization of Black sea economic cooperation.
