YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Levon Aronian–16–won the European Jr. title in chess. On Thursday morning he beat Moiseenko of Ukraine in the last round of the competition to outrun Motylev of Russia who was in the lead up to then. Motylev lost to Van Den Doel and finished second.
Three girls still have hopes in winning the female competition. Sopio Tkeshelashvili and Rusudan Goletiani beat their rivals in the last round. The results of the competition is yet to be summed up whereafter the champion will be announced. But it is clear now that Sopio Tkeshelashvili has best chances.
