LOS ANGELES–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western USA will be hosting an "Armenia’s and Progressive Politics" Conference on June 6 and 7, 2008. The conference will be a critical examination of subjects pertinent to Armenia’s’ political, social, and economic situation within a global context.
Featuring distinguished speakers, the panels’ topics are Raising Social Consciousness Through Art and Music, Women’s Issues/Feminism, Social and Democracy Issues in Armenia, Labor and Related Social Issues, and Media Democracy and Reform.
Some of the noteworthy speakers who will be participating in the conference are: Vahe Berberian, who will be discussing social consciousness through art and music; Levon Marashlian, who will be discussing social democracy issues in Armenia; David Barsamian who will be tackling the topic of Media Democracy and Reform; and UCLA Professor Roger Waldinger, who will be talking about labor issues in America. California Assemblymember Paul Krekorian will be moderating the panel on Raising Social Consciousness Through Art and Music.
