Armenian throughout the world marked Christmas on Sunday–with Armenian Apostolic churches across the world holding special masses on Saturday evening and Sunday.
From Etchmiadzin to Istanbul–to Tehran–Buenos Aires and right here in Los Angeles–Armenian faithful flocked to churches to celebrate the birth and baptism of Christ.
In the Western Region–all Prelacy and Diocese churches held special masses–while the mass at St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic church drew media attention for the number of parishioners it attracted–as well as a symbol of the pageantry of the Armenian church.
Western Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian hosted his annual Christmas gathering at Montebello’s Baghramian hall–following a special Christmas Mass at Holy Cross Cathedral.
The sold-out crowd of more than 600 community members gathered to mark this important holiday–with spiritual leader of the community.
