DAMASCUS, Syria (SANA)—Armenia’s Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladian held a reception on Thursday in Damascus for the 23rd anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
“Armenia’s Decleration of Independence in 1991 was the only choice for the Armenian people, who have for ages sought sovereignty over their historic lands, and it came as a response to the Armenian people’s will and ability to take their fate into their own hands”, Poladian said.
Poladian highlighted the historic and friendly relations between Armenia and Syria.
The Ambassador said that Armenia has followed the crisis in Syria intently, adding that Armenia welcomes any initiative that will restore stability and security in Syria. Poladian expressed hope for the return of normal life to Syria.
