YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian police revealed on Wednesday that six people suspected of killing the chairman of Armenian Public TV and Radio Council Tigran Naghdalian on December 28–2002 have been arrested. Among the apprehended are those suspected of carrying out the murder–and other members of the connected criminal group.
The police also said they have seized the gun used to kill Naghdalian–and disclosed that others suspected of being involved in the crime are on the run.
Naghdalian–36–was struck in the back of the head with a single shot as he left his parents’ apartment in central Yerevan late in the evening. His body was discovered by his father and younger brother–who rushed him to hospital; Naghdalian died on the operating table a little more than two hours later.
President Robert Kocharian–politicians–journalists–international organizations harshly condemned the killing.
