The Regional Executive of the Armenian Relief Society of the Western US announced plans to expand its headquarters to better meet the increasing needs of the Armenian community and to further accommodate it wide array of activities.
A committee formed to raise funds necessary for the construction of the new headquarters has organized a dinner banquet to be held on April 4–at the Brandview Collection in Glendale.
The following is a statement released by the ARS Western US Regional Committee regarding the abovementioned matter.
Help the ARS
For many years–the Armenian Relief Society of the Western US has spared no effort or resource to provide assistance to the Armenian community.
In the Western United States–the ARS has helped the needy–the homeless–the ill and the refugee. It has been forced to deal with natural disasters in the US and Armenia–man-induced national challenges–the war in Karabakh–and an ever-increasing Armenian-American population. In order to better provide humanitarian and social services to a population with increasing needs–the ARS needs to expand its present facility.
It is time again for the people to help the ARS achieve its goals and fulfill its mission. A new facility is of dire urgency. It will house the new ARS Counseling Center–which will provide much-needed counseling services to families–senior citizens and especially the youth of our community.
The Western Regional Executive has recently purchased property adjacent to its present headquarters. A two-story structure will replace the existing structures on the new property.
Funding for the purchase was made available by a generous donation from the Lincy Foundation. The ARS–however–is responsible for all construction expenses.
By supporting the ARS in this endeavor–you will once again prove your faith in its humanitarian mission and abilities.
