YEREVAN (Yerkir)–A symposium entitled "The Armenian Family in the 21st Century" organized by the Armenian Relief Society–concluded Wednesday.
To better facilitate the symposium other relief and humanitarian organization were invited to make presentations and participate in the forum.
Stephen Wilson detailed the work of the Armenian Red Cross–while Tom Delaney brief the seminar of the humanitarian and development projects currently undertaken in Armenia by the US Agency for International Development.
Also speaking at the seminar was the US Ambassador to Armenia Michael Lemmon–who discussed some of the activities undertaken by the Embassy in Armenia–specifically a project which opts to construct school playgrounds in Gumri.
At the conclusion of his remarks–Lemmon also articulated the need for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
Following the symposium a concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the ARS was staged by Yerevan’s Chamber Orchestra. In attendance were members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau–Executive Council of Armenia and parliamentary bloc members–as well as the Yerevan Mayor Albert Bazeyan.
Also attending the concert-celebration were the ambassadors of the US–Iran and Greece. A reception followed the concert.
