VIENNE, France—A declaration of friendship was signed between the towns of Hadrut, Nagorno Karabakh Republic, and Vienne, France, on Friday at the Vienne City Hall.
On behalf of Hadrut, the declaration was signed by Karabakh’s Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Narine Aghabalian, who was in France on a working visit, and Mayor Jacques Remiller on behalf of Vienne.
The declaration welcomes the continuing efforts of the people and leadership of Nagorno Karabakh in creating and developing a free and democratic society and considers the isolation of the people of Artsakh unacceptable. The declaration aims to develop friendly relations between the two cities and boost cooperation in education, culture, sports, and other areas.
In 2013, a declaration of friendship was also established between the village of Martuni, Karabakh, and the French town of Les Pennes-Mirabeau.
