The new AYF members take their oath

The Armenian Youth Federation, being one of the strongest youth driven organizations in the world, works hard every year towards the advancement of the Armenian youth politically, culturally and socially to better enhance the activism in their local communities.

The Armenian Youth Federation of Orange County kicked off their year with 14 new members taking their AYF oath. These 14 dedicated members have grown up in AYF Juniors striving every week to better our community and our country. After completing a series of educational presentations, these members finally reached a point in their AYF career they had long been waiting for, their oath. With their rights hands up and the smiles lighting up the room, these 14 members made a promise to everyone in the room and to their community that they will now only continue to further the Armenian cause. After years of learning and growing under their advisor, Nairy Cherchian, these members feel confident and ready to be taking this next step. “Each of these members are bringing in so much energy and talent to our chapter. We are just excited to be starting this new year with such a great group of members” says member Nora Gourdikian.

Starting the year with roster of 48 members, AYF OC is proud to be getting in such a devoted group of members. With the number of projects and events planned for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, we know the committees will be busy working hard to achieve every single goal they have set for this year. Looking back at a few of their past accomplishments with the Bone Marrow Drive and the Gyumri Photo Exhibit, we are excited to see what they’ll be working on next.

The growth of the AYF in Orange County is welcome news. Many thanks to all those in the AYF who are opening the organization – which has served our community and cause of liberty since 1933 – to a new generation of Armenian Americans. For sure, the AYF’s success in Orange County is a positive development because it is fresh proof that with hard work, dedication, and a welcoming spirit – the AYF will live in the hearts and minds of more and more future leaders. Bravo to the AYF in Orange County.
