GLENDALE—The Armenian Youth Federation Camp of California has announced its 2014 Summer Camp and Day Camp dates and has officially opened registration. The 2014 summer programs offer parents and children opportunities of a lifetime, keeping them actively engaged in promoting healthy development and the strengthening of Armenian identity within our youth. Both the Summer Camp and Day Camp programs include a variety of social, cultural, and educational activities.
The seven session dates of Summer Camp are as follows:
Week 1 – June 15 to June 22
Week 2 – June 22 to June 29
Week 3 – July 6 to July 13
Week 4 – July 13 to July 20
Week 5 – July 20 to July 27
Week 6 – July 27 to August 3
Week 7 – August 3 to August 9 ($50 off)
The four session dates of Day Camp taking place for 2014 in both Pasadena and Hollywood are as follows:
Week 1 – July 7-11
Week 2 – July 14-18
Week 3 – July 21-25
Week 4 – July 28-August 1
“I have been going to AYF Camp for two years and I love it! I love AYF Camp because you get to meet new people and make new friends. I also love AYF Camp because of their food – it’s so yummy,” said 10 year old camper Gabriella Aghajanian. “My favorite activity at AYF Camp is the arts & crafts. AYF Camp is the best camp I’ve ever been to!”
AYF Summer Camp offers a wide variety of activities which include but are not limited to field games, competition games, and outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, swimming and rock climbing, while AYF Day camp offers younger campers a bridge to the summer camp experience getting them acquainted with Armenian culture, arts & crafts, Armenian history, daily exercises and much more.
“AYF Camp is not only an awesome place to help Armenian youth interact, but also helps keep the Armenian culture alive,” said summer camp counselor Koko Abounayan. “Summer camp is what I look forward to every year; no questions asked I’m there at least one week out of the seven.”
Both summer camp and day camp offer registration specials beginning with Early Bird Specials for those who apply early. Summer camp’s Early Bird Special lasts until March 31st for $395 and day camp’s Early Bird Special last until April 30th for $150.
