The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe must send troops to help implement the principles for bringing peace to the region–Gaidar Aliyev was quoted as saying.
Aliyev made the remarks at a graduation ceremony of the air force’s pilot training school while commenting on the OSCE’s proposal for resolving the Karabakh conflict.
Recently–the Minsk group of the OSCE–consisting of representatives from Russia–France and other European nations–proposed accomplishing the peace process in two steps.
Azerbaijian wants to have an end to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh–Aliyev said adding that his government has agreed in principle on the OSCE proposal–saying that Azerbaijan would never allow complete independence for Karabakh.
On Azerbaijian’s military power–the president said his country now has its own regular armed forces and their current task for the time being is to enhance war and aggressive combat capabilities.
The military has a mandate to defend the country’s national interests and territorial integrity–he said.
