“But that does not depend solely on us,” he added. “We will continue the work launched by the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents in St. Petersburg. The two presidents have commissioned us on this issue,” Mammadyarov was quoted by the Azeri Trend News Agency as saying.
Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian and his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev met in St. Petersburg on June 4th for talks mediated by the U.S., Russian and French mediators co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group. It was their fifth face-to-face encounter in one year.
Mammadyarov and his Armenian counterpart Eduard Nalbandian also participated in those talks. The two are set to meet again in Paris on June 26.
