YEREVAN (Armenpress)–"The opening of the Armenian-Turkish border is possible before regulation of the Karabakh conflict," said Zardusht Alizade–leader of Azerbaijani Social-Democratic party to Bylik Dunyasi news agency.
Unlike the majority of opposition political leaders–the chairman of Azerbaijani social-democrats believe that normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations must not bother Azerbaijan. He reiterated his traditional principle that "regulation of our problems depends on us [Armenia and Azerbaijan] only."
Alizade does not predict freezing of Azeri-Turkish relations following the possible opening of the Armenian-Turkish border. "Turkey is an independent state and is free to create its own system of relations with all states," he is quoted as saying.
