BAKU (Armenpress)–Azeri news agencies reported Friday that foreign minister Elmar Mamadyarov discussed possible of extradition of Azeri officer Ramil Safarov, sentenced to life in prison by a Hungarian court for brutal murder of an Armenian soldier during a NATO Partnership for Peace military exercises. Mamadyarov was quoted on Friday as saying that Azerbaijan hoped that the Hungarian leadership would consider Bakus position, which, he said, hoped for a just approach towards the issue. The Hungarian minister was quoted by Trend news agency as saying that the issue would be discussed by the justice ministers of both countries when the Azeri minister visits Budapest in June. Gurgen Margarian was hacked to death by Ramil Safarov four years ago in Budapest. A Hungarian court sentenced Ramil Safarov to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the next 30 years. Both were participants of an English language training course within the framework of the NATO-sponsored "Partnership for Peace" program held in Budapest.
